2016 Lexus ES Release Date, News and Rumors

2016 Lexus ES Release Date, Pictures, Price, Specs, Review – The first vehicle carrying the ES badge from Lexus came out in 1990, and at first it was clearly a Camry copycat with perhaps only the badge of the car being swiped for the Lexus ES one. As the first model was named ES 250, the second was renamed to the ES 300 and came out in 1992, but still there were a lot of similarities to the Camry. It was only in 2002 that Lexus realized that it had to change some things and managed to divorce itself from the clear Camry design which managed to continue with the ES 330 model in 2004 and the ES 350 in 2007.

The year of 2013 was the year that marked the first major overhaul of the vehicle and was also something that set it on the correct path to success which now gets its third version with the 2016 model. The new luxury sedan that is the 2016 Lexus ES is a car which has been made through an evolution that started from the first model in 1990 and it shows how the car has been getting better with time. The new model is currently the peak that Lexus has to offer with its ES brand.

The 2016 model was first showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show this year and will be available for release next year and it actually shows us how a model revision is done properly. The vehicle received some facelifts here and there and carried over the engine from the previous year and being that this is the best-selling luxury sedan in the roster of Lexus we assume that this update is good enough to enable it to continue with the great sales for the upcoming period as well. The models that are widely associated with this model are also the Audi A6 and the Cadillac CTS one. Read the rest of the vehicle and take a look at some exclusive pictures of the 2016 Lexus ES car.

As this is a minor facelift for the exterior design of the 2016 Lexus ES, the car mainly retained the better part of its previous design. In fact, the shape and size of the vehicle remained the same for the better part while some lesser changes were made here and there. One of the changes is the introduction of the trademark Lexus spindle grille matted to the front fascia of the sedan which is framed with satin chrome and some revised LED headlight. The headlights are slimmer than before while the grille has a “one-piece” design. Below it you can also see the redesigned bumper that has some fog lights while at the back the taillights have been replaced with some L-shaped cluster units. You will also notice the rectangular exhaust outlets, a new trunk lid spoiler and a revised chrome trim at the back.

The car also receives the new 17-inch alloy wheels as an optional choice and four new exterior colors to choose from. New for the Lexus ES this year are Autumn Shimmer, Nightfall Mica, Caviar, and Eminent White Pearl color choice that you can add to your car. Generally speaking, the ES has been given the Lexus corporate look now and as it is only a minor refresh and not a complete overhaul it actually boats well for the car and is something that will keep the sales going for this year as well.

Interior

The interior of the 2016 Lexus ES was already good enough as it is, so there was no big need to change the inside in a great manner. Yet a refresh was needed to keep these things suitable with the release of a new model. Thus the car has been given some tweaks that upgrade the looks and the functionality of the car a bit. It receives the Linear Dark Mocha wood trim, Bamboo with a matt instead of a gloss finish and also an Illustrious Piano Black wood trim. The car also gets a Flaxen interior which makes the use of the combination of brown upholsteries, a black dashboard and two-tone door panels.

There are also some technological advancements made inside the car which include giving the ES new connectivity with Lexus Enform Remote and Lexus Safety System+ systems. Both the ES 350 and the ES 300h have been given the same technological upgrade so you can find all of this in both of the vehicles. They also include the Intelligent High Beam and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist as well. And let’s not forget the Mark Levinson premium sound system and the panoramic roof which are included in the optional package.

2016 Lexus RX 350

It has perhaps become a cliché to describe any new car that comes out as being bolder, but the thing is that we cannot use any other term to talk about the newest Lexus RX 350. It adds to the previous look that made the car already popular and expands on the previous design with some great features and terms. It makes for a much more attractive vehicle which will be appealing to a wide range of audiences. It also tramples the competition and leaves such models as 2016 Acura MDX, 2016 Cadillac SRX, 2016 Lincoln MKX and 2016 Nissan Murano back in the dust. The pictures of the car have been recently released and show us how good the RX 350 actually is, and if you want to find out about the specs, we suggest reading the entire review then.

The RX 350 vehicles of yesteryear were always predictably utilitarian but glossy with their details. They have always presented a good looking vehicle with a lot of usefulness to them and high-end details. The newest addition which is the 2016 Lexus RX 350 makes use of the details that were part of the look of previous cars and moves forward by adding some boldness to it. The car has been made to be a bit meaner but still useful and good looking, The cohesive design is the most important part of the new RX 350 as it kind of a looks like two or more different designs were incorporated to make one vehicle, which is in any case a bad idea but not here as the car all of that manages to keep together and prove that the vehicle has a lot of good things going for it like this.

2016 Lexus RX 350 back
2016 Lexus RX 350 back

The most obvious change that was made here was in terms of the roofline and the look of the car from the side and back. It has some very interesting angels to it and it has been revised in a way which is very strange for a Lexus. With the un-Lexus-like design that was made here, the car adds a different profile which is more arched and a bit of a coupe like, which also tapers at the back side. The front end of the car retains its spindle grille design and adds the triple-L LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. With the changes at the front the car has also been given some extra angels that make the car look generally much more aggressive and mean looking. The combination of all the new details makes the newest Lexus RX 350 the best design that it has ever had.

Interior

The interior of the 2016 Lexus RX 350 is very calm and organized. It manages to calm down the design of the previous cars and sets it right in so many ways. Perhaps the previous look of the inside was a bit wild and out of order the newest updated manages to bring everything down magnificently and brings some order inside the car. You may not even get the feeling that you are in a car that looks so aggressive on the outside when sitting inside this calm, cool and collected interior. The look is mostly borrowed from the GS and IS versions and combines well with a new horizontal dash design which incorporates some asymmetrical curves on it. The center stack and the center console have their own thing going on the as they also adopt some slick curves and stellar design cues which fits in perfectly with this design of the car.

The accents leans more to the driver this time and the decluttered interior feels really good as all of the unnecessary details have been removed. Even the subtle colors create this feeling of cleanliness as the car uses matte-black and matte-metallic trims to combine for an all-together luxury effect. The vehicle is also offered in a more performance orientated trim which is the F Sport version. Besides the obvious enhancements to the outside, this trim also adds sports seats, a unique steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminum pedals and scuff plates and a special offer which is the exclusive Rioja Red interior leather color.

Engine

Now all versions of the 2016 Lexus RX 350 car come powered with a 300-horsepower, 3.5-liter direct-injection V-6 engine. Also all models of this car will receive a newly appointed eight-speed automatic transmission as its primary choice. The RX 450h models get a Atkinson-cycle version of the V-6 which is made to produce less emissions than other models and gives the hybrid model a power of 308 hp. The F Sport is offered only with AWD and this year also marks the first time that the AWD drive system is added to the RX 450h trim.

The vehicle returns as a pretty well-mannered companion in the city roads which is quite interesting. It still manages to give its passengers a comfortable ride due to the apt suspension that soaks up broken pavement and bumps.

It also returns with its famed V8 that is muscular enough to give you 301 hp and get you in and out of traffic jams devoid of any hustles. Assuredly, the GX 460 comes fitted with a solid amount of luxury-oriented luxuries and an adaptive air suspension system that further ads to the cozy ride.

Despite all the fun the new 2016 Lexus GX 460 promises, there are still other better SUVs out there. Offering better handling and on-road performance are the Infiniti Q60, BMW X5 and Acura MDX. Furthermore, the Land Rover LR4 seems to be the perfect match to the GX’s 460 if compared side to side. However, if your desire is luxury, then I’d highly recommend the GX 460 to be at the top of your radar.
