2016 Dodge Challenger Release Date, Price, Interior, Specs – Below is a review pertaining the new 2016 Dodge Challenger as well as its release date and price. Just as a recap: during the 70’s, Dodge muscle cars were not only popular for their robust engines and super-cool styling design, but also for their iconic paint schemes. As the muscle car era reached its optimum, Dodge’s parent company began introducing new color schemes that augured well with its redesigns.
There was ‘Panther Pink’ and ‘Sublime’, ‘Top Banana’, and many other exterior color hues conspicuous enough to cause a permanent retinal damage, however arguably iconic was the ‘Plum Crazy’ purple color. And for the upcoming 2016 year model, the automaker is set to bring it back on both the Dodge Charger and the Challenger.
This won’t be the first time the automobile giant is reviving Plum Crazy, since the color has already been offered on limited editions of the current Charger from 2006, and the Challenger as well in 2008. Presently, though, the retro-color will only be available across the entire line-up and not biased to limited-production collector bait alone.
Plum Crazy will now be available on every Charger and Challenger model, from the rental-grade V6 SXT’s to the powerful top of the range 707 hp supercharged HEMI V8 Hellcats vehicle. However, there will be a time-based restriction since Dodge wants to take orders for the colors before the fall of this year. Request are already streaming in and formal pre-orders are set to begin in September, while regular dealer orders begin towards late October.
Production of the vehicles is set to begin in November. And while the Charger has taken on a more futuristic look and has grown extra doors since the first generation model was released, the Challenger now looks as if it has now come out of a time warp. Combine the delicious-retro Shaker hood and Plum Crazy paint, and you’ll be much obligated wear bell-bottoms or grow sideburns.
Release Date & Price – 2016 Dodge Challenger
The most significant changes to the upcoming new 2016 Dodge Challenger will include exterior changes and tweaks to the automatic gearbox, however more details will be provided later in this review.
The engine is expected to remain unchanged but the cabin will now offer quite a substantive amount of top quality materials and top –spec equipment. It is for this reason that the vehicle will not have a significant price bump and will remain just as before.
The release date, on the other hand, has been set at least before the fall of this year. And as far as we know, this will mark the end of the Challenger SRT8 Hellcat.
Engine Specs – Dodge Challenger 2016

Exterior Photos & Interior Concept – 2016 Dodge Challenger
Just as earlier mentioned, the interior of the vehicle is set to receive a small bump in terms of material’s quality. As a matter of fact, the older vehicle used hard plastics on its dashboard, however for the 2016 year model, 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat is set to use soft plastics and leather.
The latter material will be a first in the range. Aluminum will also be extensively used during the body design and this will impact positively to its performance and fuel consumption ratings. The exterior, on the other side will see some few changes for the 2016 year model.
The front fascia of the vehicle will come with a new bumper. The headlights will also see LED technology infusion for better visibility. The previous model was available in eight trim models: SXT, SXT Plus, R/T Convertible, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, 6.4L Scat Pack and lastly the 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker.
