With over seven million units sold since ’64, and a legacy of off-road victories, the new 2017 Toyota Tacoma is arguably poised to add to the seamless run the model has enjoyed ever since its debut in the automotive scene. This is what Bill Fay – general manager & Group vice president, Toyota Division had to say about their latest entrant, “The homegrown Tacoma is an unabashedly tough truck built to appeal for both young and old. Toyota has for the past five decades managed to offer adventure-loving Americans the reliability of a serious off-roader like the Tacoma.”
In spite of the serious mechanical underpinnings required for a serious off-roader, the Tacoma still manages to offer a smooth ride quality thanks to the fine-tuned suspension system. The weight has also been drastically reduced due to the extensive use of aluminum metal and a new hot stamping process.
Yet, even in total disregard of the new changes, the existing 2016 Tacoma is still competitive judged by its sales volume that have been spiraling through the roof. The new model only comes to improve an otherwise capable truck that boasts of features such as an attractive interior, an efficient V6 engine, an impressive resale value, and a laudable towing capacity pegged at 6,800 pounds.
Once available, the new Toyota Tacoma 2017 will have to square it out with other serious trucks such as Chevrolet Colorado, Nissan Frontier, and 2016 GMC Canyon. Given, the competition is undoubtedly stiff. Whichever angle you try to view the Tacoma from, you’ll certainly find enough reasons to consider it.
2017 Toyota Tacoma Release Date & Price
Rumors are rife the new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro release date is set for early 2017. Once available, expect the regular model to go for sale for an MSRP starting from around $23,000. The TRD Pro price is speculated to be $31,000. Slight changes can however be expected once Toyota makes the full details known.
2017 Toyota Tacoma Exterior
The 2017 Tacoma truck design DNA emphasizes a lot on enjoyment. Yes, it may be serious and fun at the same time. Just like its Tundra sibling, the new model comes with a more chiseled face. The front profile also comes with the same hexagonal grille design as the model it is replacing. Engineers also made great inroads when it came to offering it an athletic agility and recreation action thanks to the stronger wheel flares, high-lift image, and muscular, greater wheel travel. The LED daytime running lights ad projection beam lamps are mounted high above the clamp-shaped bumper.
2017 Toyota Tacoma Interior
The exterior toughness is complemented by an athletic, off-road feel, and go-anywhere interior. Metallic accents, and soft-wrapped trim set the stage for a high-quality feel and look that sets the mood for premium quality features such as enhanced touchscreen audio, a power moon-roof, Qi wireless charging, a blind-spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert system, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, leather-trimmed seats, and smart key with push-button start.
Furthermore, the new model is quieter than before thanks to plenty of sound-deadening materials like sound-absorbing headliners, and multi-layer acoustic windshields. The full list of available accessories should be expected on its release date.
