Dramatic improvements for the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe continue for the new model year. To wit, the enhancements range from new convenience, and safety technologies, to a fresh exterior redesign and LED lighting techniques. There’s plenty of value with the new model, it’s actually an understatement to say every dollar counts. For an MSRP that starts from $32,000, the new model offers features such as brawny V6 engine, generous warranty coverage, classy and bespoke design, and plenty of standard features for the money. Its release date has been confirmed for the spring of 2017. Meanwhile, order books are open, which means you can go ahead and place an order as early as soon as you read this review.
For starters and repeat owners, owning the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe has never felt this good. It comes with an appealing blend of style, power, and comfort. It also melds upscale exterior designs with up-to-the-minute technologies and upscale materials. The vehicle is extremely good to the point it lacks any foibles, in fact, the only that seems to tarnish its otherwise brilliant reputation is perhaps its limited cargo volume relative to what the competition offers.
The following is a compilation of the facelifts that have made it to the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe roster relative to the outgoing model: new LED daytime running lights, a USB charging port, a seven-inch touchscreen display, refreshed front and rear styling, automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree parking camera, a forward collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and an available USB charging port.
For 2017, Hyundai is also offering the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport version. The Korean automobile giant says around 350 individual parts have been updated relative to the outgoing model. Its motivation comes from either a 185, 2.4L four-cylinder direct-injection engine, or a more powerful 240 horsepower, turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine. A more substantive 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport review is offered elsewhere on our blog.
Well-rounded – yes! Efficient – yes! Stylish – oh yes. Something still seems to be missing – you might interject. See, the appealing demeanor of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is a no-brainer, but what seems to block its home run is perhaps its lack of name recognition in its class. Its popularity is clouded by other seven-passenger crossover alternatives such as the Mazda CX-9, Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, and the Toyota Highlander.

The Santa Fe Limited offers LED taillights, and outside mirrors with inbuilt turn signals. Both the Santa Fe SE Ultimate and the Santa Fe Limited Ultimate get a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree multi-view camera.
Exterior colors remain unaltered over the previous iteration.
2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Interior
An impressive work has been done to make life aboard it worthwhile. This has been achieved through the extensive use of top-notch materials in combination with functional, attractive, and intuitive control layout.
The appealing layout has also been complemented by the spacious accommodations inside. There’s good comfort and wide adjustability of the front seats. Although the interior offers ample accommodation, the third-row bench is best left to kids and teens.
Four trims are available for the new 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe: Limited Ultimate, SE, SE Ultimate, and Limited. Full Hyundai Santa Fe Sport specs are covered elsewhere.
