New 2017 Hyundai Elantra  – Release Date and Info

2017 Hyundai Elantra Review

With its quiet ride, lots of safety and technology features, and an upscale and thoughtfully laid out interior design. It’s certainly a smart choice for a comfortable and well-equipped small sedan. Its release date should be expected early next year, at least according to recent news.

The previous generation was a headline grabber with its bold curves and stylish interior that, at the time were futuristic and top-notch. And even at the end of the production cycle, the Elantra still looked amazing relative to what its competition offered. The 2017 Elantra hopes to build on the gains already achieved by its predecessor by taking on an understated and conservative look offered by Hyundai’s larger Sonata.

The new model now comes with more subtle creases and contours for the sheet metal and sports the hexagonal corporate grille found on other Hyundai’s models. While one might argue the 2017 Elantra gave up a bit on its rock-n-roll character, it now offers a likable level of refinement and mature look that reflects the car’s polish.

Its interior is similar to the Sonata on various fronts, which become even more pronounced once you sit behind the wheel. The cabin offers a premium appeal and is unmistakable comfortable even for occasional weekend trips. It offers lots of bells and whistles even for the most basic trim model. The smartphone app integration and the control layout in general, for instance, is easy-to-use even for those who are beleaguered by mobile applications.

The interior volume doesn’t change despite the new model offering slightly wider dimensions. However, the backseat gains some room relative to what the outgoing model offered. When it comes to performance, both the Limited and SE trim models get a new four-cylinder 2.0L engine. Then there is the Elantra Eco model that also gains a turbocharged 1.4L engine that offers superior fuel economy.

There is no doubt that Elantra’s trim models are well-equipped, however, the base model seems to be trailing the rest of them in terms of several technologies. It lacks a touchscreen audio, a Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, and wheel stereo controls. On the upside, though, these features are optioned and can be had for an extra. Another notable con is the underwhelming engine performance.

Rivals you could check out for comparison purposes include the Honda Civic – it delivers an excellent performance, plenty of features, a responsive handling, and an aggressive handling. Others we’d also recommend include the Mazda 3, the Volkswagen Golf, and the value-packed Kia Forte.
