The new 2017 Ford Mustang continues to be defined by its trademark swagger and performance that has christened its existence. Anyone looking for a sporty American coupe or convertible should check it out and probably go ahead and book for a test drive. Just like the Mustangs of yore, the new model offers an appealing array of engine options, grippy and sharp handling, lots of modern tech, and classy cabin materials. Continue reading on for more news on its design changes, power output, pricing structure, and release date rumors.
For 2017, the new Mustang carries over essentially unchanged over the existing model. Well, with over five decades in production, the Mustang is arguably wealthy in terms of heritage. And now in its newest generation, it even makes an even more sophisticated and all-rounded proposition that can even give European luxury cars a run for their money.
In among the plethora of things that the new 2017 Ford Mustang offers is of course what lies beneath the hood. Three engines are offered: 3.7L V6, 2.3L four-cylinder, and a powerful 5.0L V8. Power ranges from as ‘little’ as 300 horsepower to as much as 435 ponies. The Mustang GTs comes packed with most agile mills and, according to Ford, can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. Fuel economy is rather so-so at 19 mpg for combined city/highway cruising with the automatic coupe.
The interior is nicely-trimmed and comes equipped with some of the latest technologies and upscale material quality. As an improvement over the prior MyFord Touch system, the new model comes equipped with the new Sync 3 touchscreen interface. It offers crisp graphics and is intuitive to use. New driver-assisting and safety technologies have been roped-in as well.
The muscle car segment is a hot rod in terms of competition, and there’re several impeccable options available to buyers as well. The 2016 Dodge Challenger offers better ride quality, and ample passenger and luggage space than the model under review. However, it comes a bit short in terms of cornering ability. The Chevrolet Camaro latest redesign brings forth a unique technological refinement, a new interior design, a refreshed styling, and more powerful engines. It’s also worth considering both the BMW 2 Series and the Audi TT. But even in light of such impressive competition, the Mustang is a seasoned veteran that is strong in almost every defining element that constitutes a muscle car: fun factor, excellent engines, and advanced technological advancements.
