For 2017, the new Acura TLX is yet again going to grace our dealerships with an extensive list of added features and technologies. The TLX is long known for its spacious and luxurious interior and the same is true for the new model. Additionally, it offers a hush interior, boatload of features, responsive handling and steering, and a generous rear legroom. The only downsides available after a thorough nitpicking include a middling performance, subpar acceleration and braking, distracting dual-screen infotainment system, and questionable fuel economy ratings. The Acura TLX release date should be expected sometime in the first quarter of 2017.
Riding on the same platform as the Honda Accord, the new Acura TLX 2017 cruises into dealerships essentially on the same scouting report as before. With 109.3” of wheelbase, slightly reduced length, and improved width, the new model, relative to the previous model it is replacing, offers a more athletic stance.
There are a number of upgrades present on the newest TLX in order to improve its appeal as a luxury-badged vehicle. Being an Acura means the new TLX is well-rounded, nicely furnished and offers plenty of value. In fact, this is the best you can get in its price range. Comparably equipped European models are significantly costly, and they also tend to depreciate quickly. The TLX is arguably the best value you can get in this segment, and can save you loads of bucks now and in the future.
True, the Acura TLX 2017 may not be the fastest vehicle in the segment, or even the most fuel efficient. Most folks buy because of its marque, which means you get all the luxury trappings of a luxury sedan without breaking the bank. In the engine bay, it comes with two engines: a 3.5L V6 and a 2.4L inline-4. The inline-4 whips up a cool 206 hp and 182 pounds of torque, while the latter provides more oomph rated at 290 horsepower and 267 pounds of torque.
There is no doubt that the 2017 Aura TLX specs fall short relative to what its rivals offer, especially those that offer turbo- or supercharged six-cylinder engines. As opposes to pedal-to-the-metal theatrics, these rivals offer a quick burst of speed whenever called upon to do so. The fuel economy ratings posted by the new model are also wanting, at least according to various preliminary tests done.
