2016 Toyota Sequoia Release Date, Price, MPG, MSRP – The new and updated 2016 Toyota Sequoia is expected to feature novelties which will include standard camera and sunroof which were previously provided optionally. The vehicle comes handy especially when you want to haul any stuff, be it a spouse, water skis, or six kids; the brand new Sequoia will get you covered.
We don’t expect the new vehicle to come with many significant changes since the previous model was well equipped and achieved quite a success. It is imperative to note that the vehicle is built on the same platform as that of the Toyota Tundra.
And just like last year, the new Sequoia is expected to feature the same engine. When fully equipped, the vehicle tows up 7,400lbs. Despite the vehicle being hulking, its acceleration is quite impressive.
That said, you can also try to sample other full-size SUV’s on the market before you settle on the 2016 Toyota Sequoia. The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and its Suburban sibling are some of the vehicles you can sample. Both are richer and quiet, and have a more modern interior.
Also, there is the Ford Expedition, which might be a better alternative than the two mentioned above. It scores highly in terms of fuel efficiency and a better designed fold-flat third-row seat. And in case you want truck-based beasts of burden that don’t need sort of max capabilities offered by the likes of Sequoia, you can try out the Chevrolet Traverse and Toyota Highlander. The new 2016 Toyota Sequoia will still be a full-size crossover with a seating capacity of eight passengers. According to our own assumptions, the vehicle will also be provided in three trim levels: base SR5, mid-trim Limited and top-of-the-line Platinum model.
The base SR5 will come with tons of features according to some rumors that will include 18-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, a roof rack, de-icer, privacy rear glass, running boards, and a power-lowering rear window. Inside you get automatic climate control, leather interior trims, an eight-way power driver seat, heated exterior mirrors, cruise control, a 40/20/40-split, a telescopic steering wheel, side sunshades, a rearview camera integrated into the auto-dimming rearview mirror, an 8-speaker system with Toyota’s Entune 6.1” touchscreen, satellite radio, CD player, HD radio, a USB functionality, an auxiliary audio jack and Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity.
The separately available Premium package retains power driver seat lumbar adjustment, 8-passenger seating and bundles leatherette interior upholstery, a four-way power passenger seat, a power-reclining, heated driver seats and folding back seat.
Some of the expected features in the range-topping Platinum include all of the above features, plus different 20-inch wheels, a blind spot monitoring system, an adaptive air suspension, adaptive cruise control, power-adjustable driver seat thigh support, heated front seats, perforated back seats, driver memory settings, a second-row center console, an electric steering wheel and heated second-row captain’s chairs.
With the above features and equipment, the new Toyota Sequoia 2016 is certainly well-placed to compete confidently with other vehicles in its segment. Word on the streets allege that the vehicle will also feature aggressive touches, modern design and new bumper design. Also, the fresh Sequoia is said to feature a new lightweight body that, will among other things significantly improve the fuel economy.
Engine Specs – Toyota Sequoia 2016
Under the hood of the new 2016 Toyota Sequoia will be the same engine as that in the outgoing model. The 5.7L V8 engine in the current model is capable of generating up to 381 horsepower and 401 pounds of torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed auto transmission which will send power to the RWD. We expect the locking limited-slip differential to be provided as standard features.
Also, our supposition is that the Sequoia Premium with an all-wheel-drive will be able to sprint from 0-60 mph in less than 6.9 seconds. The previous model’s EPA ratings were rated at 13/18/15 mpg in the city/highway/combined with the RWD, and 13/17/14 mpg for the all-wheel-drive system.
