2016 Nissan Rogue Release Date, Interior, Price, Specs – The upcoming new 2016 Nissan Rogue may look unchanged on its exterior, but behind the LED lighting slashes and shovel-styled grille, it’s packing substantially more high-tech features. This will become the 2nd model year for the present generation of Rogue, and to come its fan base intact Nissan will be adding some fresh add-ons to its various trims.
Ford has been making all kinds of noise concerning its foot-activated tailgate, however, Nissan buyers will be able to get one on the top of the range Rogue SL model, thereby allowing the Japanese carmaker to claim some parity with the Ford Escape in terms of the tech options arms race.
The Rogue SL will also get SiriusXM based NissanConnect connectivity, which will incorporate apps for Facebook, Twitter, iHeartRadio, and Pandora, Bluetooth streaming audio, and telematics services such as emergency response and maintenance reminders. Engine Specs of the New 2016 Nissan Rogue
The only engine option that will be provided for the 2016 Nissan Rogue will be a 2.5L 4-cylinder powerplant capable of yielding around 170 hp and 175 pounds of torque. The engine will be paired to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) system.
The FWD system will be standard across the entire line-up while the AWD will be optionally provided. Rumors buzzing on the internet allege that the automaker is set to bring a Rogue hybrid to the United States, but the company hasn’t confirmed anything as yet.
The engine above remains unchanged for the 2016 year model and might also feature the same EPA estimates as its predecessor which returns 26/33/28 mpg in the city/highway/combined.
Some of the safety features to expect from the new Rogue include stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, a rearview camera, side curtain airbags (for all three rows when equipped) and hill-start assist. The AWD system adds hill descent control.

The top-of-the-line SL model will most certainly get standard 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, foglights, a power liftgate, heated front seats, leather upholstery, voice controls, a 7-inch touchscreen display, a 360-degree parking camera system (Around View), a navigation system and an 8-speaker Bose audio system with a six-CD changer.
We anticipate more options to be provided for the 2016 year model and will also add those in the previous model. Available on the S or SV will be the Family package that adds a third-row seat and run-flat tires (deleting the spare tire), and rear privacy glass for the base model.
The SV Premium package adds the SL’s standard bigger touchscreen, navigation system, Around View camera system, heated mirrors, a lane-departure warning system, a blind-spot warning system, a forward collision warning system and “moving object detection”. The SL Premium package features a panoramic sunroof and LED headlights. Also, it adds the safety features from the SV Premium package.
