2016 Honda Ridgeline Release Date, Specs, Interior, MPG – The passing generation of the Ridgeline was by far the most unique vehicle to be released by Honda since it was more of an SUV than a conventional truck but still offered the same build design of a normal sedan.
A wholesome and vehicle is what the next generation of Honda Ridgeline 2016 promises. There are tons of rumours alleging that Honda is trying to come up with a new concept of the car’s body and are working towards creating a conventional body on the same frame building.
This would then allow them to take a head-on approach on the Toyota Tacoma and further on other pickups trucks out there. The new Ridgeline promises to be something totally different from the previous model and will be a beasts in some aspects. Unfortunately, the information the manufacturer has given is scanty. There are also many other models in mid-size pickup truck segmetn that can be a suitable competition to the Ridgeline, such as the Chevy Colorado model, GMC Canyon and Nissan Frontier.
The body build will be conventional and this would enable the Honda Ridgeline 2016 to take the likes of Tacoma from Toyota head on. Below are the spy photos of the vehicle.
2016 Honda Ridgeline Interior & Exterior Pics
The cabin of the Ridgeline has received both admiration and criticism alike since it is an essentially a nose-dive from the previous generation model. Furthermore, the interior will be somehow smaller in comparison to the outgoing model.
Many new features will be added which will either come in the base model and optional for premium ones. Some of the standard features include; electric windows, seats and mirrors, air conditioning, and 6-speaker audio system.
Other might include satellite navigation, full leather interior, dual climate control and premium infotainment system, and others. We will make the specific details available once the Japanese automaker makes them public.
As for the top trim models, the cabin will feature elegant interior materials and designs which will be exclusive for the pickup truck. Unfortunately, not much info has been made available yet, but the automobile giant recently released some teaser photos that try to depict the overall profile of their new truck.
The next generation of the Ridgeline is more similar in terms of design language to the previous L200 version. The vehicle will be made available with four doors. The front fascia looks very assertive and the truck seems to have a rather overall epic design.
Engine Specs – 2016 Honda Ridgeline
When we now take a closer look at the drivetrain of the new Honda Ridgeline 2016, the new truck will come fitted with new performance novelties like a new set of engines that are going to be dissimilar to the predecessor’s.
The new 2016 Honda Ridgeline will come fitted with a 2.0L naturally aspirated inline four which will be capable of producing around 160 horsepower. In terms of fuel efficiency, the vehicle’s engine is expected to be a little fuel efficient than its immediate predecessor and will be able to offer 30 mpg on the highway which is quite impressive by conventional standards.
Further down the available variants there will be a combo of turbocharged powerplants. The automaker is presently in the process of setting up a new factory in the U.S that is specifically meant for the turbo drivetrains.
Other engines will include a 2L gasoline engine with the capability of generating 240 horsepower and a 2L diesel engine powerplant. However, the latter should not come as a surprise despite the power details still shrouded in mystery. 2016 Honda Ridgeline Release Date & Price
While most of the details of the Ridgeline remain mysterious including some of the forthcoming features and equipment in the cabin, we are only left to assume most of them which, believe me, we are good at given the extensive approach we use to unearth the details.
2016 Honda Ridgeline is going to be, much to buyers relief, both cheaper and to some extent smaller with the base trim expected to feature an MSRP of $20,000. That said, it therefore means a whopping reduction of about $10,000 from the outgoing model which retailed at a price of about $30,000.
The release date, on the other hand, is going to most likely be towards the fall of 2015 for the concept model and the 4th Q of 2016 for the actual model.
