2016 Ford F-250 Release Date, Review, Price, Specs – The new 2016 Ford F-250 will roll out with only minor changes. This is one of the oldest trucks in the segment and doesn’t enjoy a myriad of improvements, however considering its proven capability on the market, we should look forward to a couple of design changes here and there.
As we will later see, providing the brawn will be either a diesel 6.7L V8 or a 6.2L petrol engine, with the former having been updated only a year ago to boost its power output to 440 hp and 860 pounds of torque.
The towing capacity with either of the engines remains robust and will be 15,900 pounds for the V8 petrol engine and 16,600 pounds with the diesel powerplant. The F-250 Super Duty model also returns in various trims and body styles that range from no-frills regular cab work trucks to the top of the range 4-door Crew Cab models with the cabin packed with tons of convenience and technology features.
Exterior Dimensions & Interior Configuration – Ford F-250 2016
The F-250 Super Duty will be available in two or four wheel drive system in three cab styles: four door extended cab, two door regular cab and four door crew cab. The extended cab has aft-hinged access style rear doors, while the crew cab has the conservative four full-size doors.
Would-be buyers will have up to five trim levels to choose from: XL, XLT, Lariant, King Ranch and Platinum models. The Lariant is available on both the crew cab and SuperCab models, while the Platinum and King Ranch models have only been offered in crew cab configuration.
The base XL model comes with 17” wheels, black door handles, black grille and bumpers, manual-telescopic trailer tow mirrors, air conditioning, floor coverings, vinyl upholstery, 40/20/40-split front bench seat, sound system with an AM/FM radio and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.
The XLT adds a chrome grille and bumpers, 18” alloy wheels, integrated blind-spot mirrors, heated exterior mirrors, full power accessories, rear privacy glass, cruise control, paddled door armrests, cloth upholstery, a carpeted floor, an integrated trailer brake controller, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Ford Sync voice command system, four speaker sound system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack, satellite radio and USB/iPod interface.
The Lariat trim adds power telescopic and folding mirrors, automatic headlights, a power sliding and defrosting rear window, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear view camera, leather upholstery, power-adjustable pedals, eight-way power front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, wood-tone interior trim, 8” touchscreen and an 8-speaker audio system, MyFord Touch infotainment system and a 4.2” color trip computer.
The King Ranch adds heated and ventilated front bucket seats, remote ignition, a navigation system, color schemes and special leather upholstery.
The top of the range Platinum model will be equipped similarly to the King Ranch, but will feature uptown design cues on both its exterior and interior configurations, while adding a tailgate assist step, 20” polished alloy wheels, upgraded leather upholstery and heated steering wheels. Other options that will be made depending on the trim model will include different axle ratios, a transmission power take-off, a stowable bed extender, heavy duty alternators, roof clearance lights, fifth-wheel/gooseneck mounting points, drop-in spray-in bedliners, integrated accessory switches and a sunroof.
