The V6 powerplant will now be able to yield around 279 hp and 252 pounds of torque. A 6-speed transmission system will be coming standard and will direct power to either the FWD or the AWD system through the revised all-wheel-drive-system.
The revised system is now capable of apportioning more power to the rear wheels and which will be enough to improve the RDX’s cornering performance especially in dry weather. The V6 will also be able to shut down three cylinders under light load on highway cruising, inevitably adding 1 mpg to the fuel consumption rating.
The automaker claims that the new 2016 Acura RDX fuel ratings are pegged at 20/29 mpg in the city/highway with the FWD system and 19/28 mpg with the AWD system.

The 2016 RDX will come with several features that will highlight it among its competitors. The base model will be well-equipped and will even feature standard heated seats and optional packages.
The Technology package will include an 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat, rear-cross traffic warning and blind-spot warning among other features. Another package will be the Advance package which will include remote engine start, fog lights, front and rear parking sensors and cooled front seats. Both of the packages will include a navigation system with voice recognition feature.
The package also includes AcuraWatch, which will incorporate collision mitigation warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, multi-view rear camera among others.
The base 2016 Acura RDX model will also have the option of being equipped with AcuraWatch in the Technology package.
